No more hostages…
Almost 20 years ago James started his technology career. Starting at the bottom of the IT ladder first as a desktop support technician. James began moving up the ladder working as a server manager, systems administrator, technical lead, project manager and finally operations manager. In addition James has been a college level instructor, technical writer and most recently as a Seattle IT Consultant and network architect.
His education includes a BS in Information systems and an MBA. Some of his certifications include: MCSE NT 4.0, MCSE 2000, MCSE 2003, MCP +I, MCT, CNA
His clients list has included:
- Spokane Community college district
- Wenatchee valley community college
- The City of Seattle
- Accenture
- Washington Mutual (Now Chase)
- Smith Barney
- Intuit
- Microsoft
… and over 100 small, medium and large businesses in the Puget Sound area. As a Tier III Incident technician has brought over 20 business networks back from the dead. As a project manager has designed, planned, implemented, migrated and managed 100′s of network projects.
Project Technologies include:
- Clound Network Architecture
- Unified Communication
- Network infrastructure (Microsoft, Novel, Unix, Cisco, VMWare)
- Email projects (Exchange, Groupwise, CC Mail.. etc.)
- Email Servers (IIS, etc.)
- Database servers (SQL, etc)
- Accounting Systems (QuickBooks, Peachtree, etc.)
- CRM (MS Dynamics)
- And many others
Over the years James noticed that no matter how large the organization, they all deal with the same technical pitfalls. Businesses outgrow their technology because the technology outgrows the technical experience of the manager and the technical staff.
By teaching the managers how to manage the business of technology, the business grows at an astounding rate. The more technology changes, the more quickly the business outpaces its competitors.
With this understanding James started Seattle IT Edge to help Owners and managers develop a technical edge on their competitors.
